Our daycamp program offers a comprehensive training experience for your dog. Meet Your Head Trainer with Sit Means Sit
Alexis
Alexis is the owner and Head Trainer at Sit Means Sit and is working with Pawradise Estero to deliver professional training! She has been training dogs all his life and has been doing canine behavioral rehabilitation work that entire life..
Alexis has always had a strong passion for helping and connecting with animals. So much so, that from early childhood, she would check books out from his local library so that he could learn as much as he could about dogs and their behaviors: why they do what they do, how they feel, etc. He was fascinated by them and was always trying to learn more about how to better connect with them.
As she got older, he began learning both basic training and trust-building with fearful dogs. In early adulthood, Alexis began working with other trainers, learning about behavioral rehabilitation, mainly for fear and aggression, and how these behaviors manifest and why. She worked with other trainers until she became proficient in her work, enough to build confidence as a trainer, and have a client base of her own.
Frequently Asked Questions
What vaccines does my dog need?
Please ensure your dog is up-to-date on Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, and Lepto. (Lepto is becoming more prevalent in Florida, but may not be a standard vaccine. Please make sure to request it.)
What happens if someone brings in a sick dog?
We ask that you DO NOT bring in a sick dog. If your dog starts showing signs or symptoms, we will call to have your dog picked up until he or she is cleared.
Is a dog too old to learn new tricks?
Absolutely NOT! Dogs live at the moment. They do not dwell on the past, nor do they worry about the future. Older dogs may have developed bad habits that need to be resolved, and we can teach your old dog some new tricks.
What age can a dog begin training?
We recommend a dog at least be 16 weeks old and at least a week out from their 2nd round of puppy shots.
